Overall healthy living conditions for all inhabitants of this region in its entirety as well as its sub-regions must be ensured within the framework of the community of European nations and states. This calls for sustainable spatial and environmental development in many areas of life. 16 years ago, IAWD set itself the goal of making a contribution to this sustainable development in the vital field of drinking water supply through institutionalised co-operation and will accordingly continue these efforts in the future with the very highest commitment.
