A while ago we reported on the launch of D-CLEAN, a project which is supported by the European Union and the Interreg Danube Region Program and addresses the pressing issue of wastewater and stormwater management in the Danube River Basin.
The project sails under the full title "D-CLEAN: Improving Water Quality in the Danube River Basin – Nature-Based Solutions for Sustainable Wastewater and Stormwater Management in Small Settlements". Led by a consortium of ten partners from seven countries, it promotes sustainable wastewater and stormwater management practices that are resilient to climate change, while equipping stakeholders with the tools needed to implement effective, long-term solutions. To this end, D-CLEAN builds on awareness-raising, capacity-building, and the identification, testing, and showcasing of practical solutions.
Today we can extend an invitation to come on board: Join the fight to keep the Danube clean and build your community's resistance in times of climate change – without even getting up from your chair.
On 22 October 2025, 13:30 - 15:00 CET, D-CLEAN holds the first webinar in a series of six, called "Mapping the Danube Region - Regional Insights into Wastewater and Stormwater Challenges in Small Settlements". The premiere session will present key findings from the regional baseline analysis, including:
The insights shared will lay the foundation for introducing Nature-Based Solutions to improve water quality and support sustainable development in the DRB.
D-CLEAN has recruited a roster of highly competent presenters and panelists from academia, industry and NGOs. During the webinar it will be possible to post questions to presenters and panelists and gather valuable know-how for potential follow-up action under individual specific circumstances.
