On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Austria joining the World Bank, the World Bank Group (WBG) Vienna office would like to invite you to a webinar on the future of the partnership between Austria and the WBG.
The opening of the event will feature a panel with Harald Waiglein (Director General for Economic Policy, Financial Markets and Customs Duties, Federal Ministry of Finance), Antonella Bassani (Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, World Bank), and Alfonso Garcia Mora (Regional Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, International Finance Corporation). The panel will be moderated by Xiaoqing Yu (Country Director for the Western Balkans and head of the Vienna office, World Bank).
Subsequently, Part 1 will include a first session on green finance and financial stability in the context of a green transformation. The second session will discuss ways to create an enabling environment for green investments and green competitiveness of firms.
In the afternoon, Part 2 will be centered around climate change resilience strategies. The three sessions will focus on building a water secure and resilient Danube region, supporting climate mitigation and adaptation in cities in Europe and Central Asia and assisting Western Balkans countries in their green transition.
