Webinar
Waste water and sludge management for the circular economy in the Western Balkans
Organizer: The Netherlands Water Partnership

Over the past decades, the waste water paradigm in the Netherlands has shifted from linear to circular, putting the emphasis on closed cycles and energy, water and nutrient recovery. The recently adopted European Green Deal, that seeks to make the European Union climate neutral by 2050, may offer new opportunities for Western Balkan countries which are actively working on improving waste water and sludge management.

To explore these opportunities, the Netherlands Water Partnership, with the support of the Partners for Water Programme, will host a webinar on 22 September on the topic of ‘Waste water and sludge management for the circular economy in the Western Balkans’. NWP members Royal HaskoningDHV and KWR Water Research Institute will present their approaches to closing cycles in their waste water and sludge management projects at the session.

The webinar will last 60 minutes. The first 45 minutes will consist of short presentations of key experts from leading Dutch and international organisations. The last 15 minutes will be reserved for an open discussion.
