The Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic researcher or programmer to model the dynamics of fish populations and communities in freshwater lakes and reservoirs at the Institute of Hydrobiology.
The successful candidate will use long-term quantitative limnological data ranging from nutrients to fish for multiple lakes and reservoirs, curated by the Institute, and develop models to decipher the effects of various anthropogenic drivers (such as recreational fishing, warming and eutrophication) on fish population dynamics in lakes and reservoirs. These models will be used to answer fundamental ecological questions and/or provide expert advice for evidence-based management of recreational fisheries, water quality and reservoir operations.
