The 2025 DWC "Looking Back, Looking Forward: A State of the Sector Update" will be held from 14 till 16 May in Vienna, back to back with the UBP Danube Hub workshop on 13-14 May. Its main focus will be on the World Bank State of the Sector, a totally recent, comprehensive document on the situation of the water sector in the Danube region.

Once again, the DWC promises to be a memorable event in a perfectly suited venue, with excellent hospitality, including a Conference dinner at a spectacular location, and of course a rich three-day program with a theme spectrum that includes Utility management and operation; Integrated water management and planning; and Governance and policy.

The 2025 DWC welcomes poster contributions on best practice, applied research, policy developments and solutions relating to challenges faced by water professionals in the Danube region, in line with the themes mentioned above, and related to the sessions outlined in the conference agenda. Topics of particular interest are circular economy, climate smart approaches to water and sanitation, digital transformation, innovation in technology and policy, nature-based solutions in water services, and inclusiveness and equality.
