The revised Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD) will come into effect on January 1, 2025, meaning its transposition into national law must be completed by June 30, 2027. The European Water Association (EWA) is dedicating its 2025 Spring Seminar to this topic, in partnership with the Norwegian Water Association (NWA). Scientific studies increasingly support the revised UWWTD, but its implementation poses major challenges for utilities across Europe. This seminar aims to foster understanding of these challenges and explore collaboration between utilities and authorities to improve European waters.
