Throughout the past three years IAWD has played an active role in bringing together water utility associations from the Danube region to share experience and exchange information and ideas. The Roundtable of Water Utility Associations involving over 15 national water utility associations from the countries of the Danube region has developed into a very important forum for cooperation and has led to the initiative to establish D-LeaP, the Danube Learning Partnership. Because many of the associations of the region are relatively small there is need to share resources and capacity and the Roundtable has allowed this to happen. With support from the Danube Water Program the Associations have managed to meet twice per year and plan to continue and build this cooperation further and formalize some elements of it such as D-LeaP.
